If you are like me, you are always geeking out about new websites to research about wellness or hypermobility. There is so much to learn, and every bit of information can lead us zebras to comfort.
I hope you can find some in these links below:
4. The Ehlers-Dahnlos Society Website: This is like, the holy grail of EDS websites. There are free downloadable guides here to give to your medical provider, dentist or family. The organization is based in the UK. To be honest, I don’t love some of their marketing and messaging. However, they are very well respected by the medical community. They hold a conference every year and the most cutting-edge medical professionals show up to share the latest zebra research about hypermobility and all it’s comorbities.
3. Headspace: I try to spend 10-15 minutes meditating every day. I have used Headspace for this for years! Headspace has lots of courses about pain management, anxiety, insomnia and grief. These lessons have helped me cope with my chronic pain. While ideally a meditation is a low technology activity, I find this app is great for beginners to meditation! Headspace offers a free trial, but if you want to use it long term, you might want to pony up the cost for a yearly subscription.
2. EWG’s Consumer Guide Database: This is a great resource for American zebras. The Environmental Working Group’s mission is to help us live in a healthy environment. Many of us zebras suffer from MCAS or chronic environmental sensitives. Before deciding to purchase a new product, I like to run it by this website to make sure it is not toxic. There is so much awesome information in here about makeup, water, cleaning products and more.
1. Ehlers Dahnlos Subreddit: This is by far my favorite forum about EDS. I really like Reddit for the platform’s anonymity. Some forums on Reddit are way too toxic or young for me. But this one is just right. Even though it’s anonymous, I swear people are kinder in this forum than other social networks that are more transparent about names! I am sure this has to do with fantastic moderators, but this community is so positive! This is my favorite place to go for general questions.
